About the Owners

Eric & Rachael Sudhalter
Owners/Operators of Orion's Apothecary

Born and raised in Southern California, Eric and Rachael met at Deaf Pizza night in 2003, and worked for over a decade together as American Sign Language interpreters.

After enjoying year round growing and beautiful, never ending summer weather, they took a leap and shifted careers and states. Landing in the Willamette Valley of Oregon, Eric taught at the Waldorf School and fell deeper in love with all things permaculture, biodynamic farming, mushrooms, and fermentation. Rachael continued interpreting, worked as a doula, and completed a 200 hr yoga training.

Their next move landed them in the Roaring Fork Valley of Colorado, where Eric harvested Osha root, foraged for even more mushrooms, and learned to grow his garden at altitude. They both worked at the local Waldorf school there, enjoyed small town life, and snow!!

One more move would settle them on the Front Range of Northern Colorado, where they finally found their home. In September 2019, they opened their store in Loveland. What started as a CBD store quickly turned into a place for their handmade Orion’s Apothecary products, bulk dried herbs, mushroom growing supplies, and much more. Eric is currently herbal school furthering his knowledge even more.
